No Cost Introduction and Evaluation

The first step in getting your child started into their music training is to schedule a no cost introduction and evaluation with Ms. Hisami.

For first time students Ms. Hisami will evaluate if the student is ready to begin formal instruction. While some children may be ready as early as 3 years old, this is not always the case as children develop at different rates and in different ways. Starting before the student is ready can be frustrating for everyone involved and may cause the student to have a negative association with the violin and music training. Ms. Hisami only accepts students who are at a point they can benefit from the instruction.

Additionally, the student can be fitted for an instrument that is appropriate for their size. Parents also have an opportunity to ask questions related to the violin, the Suzuki method, what materials would be required and when the student should begin instruction.

For students who already have had violin or other musical instruction, Ms. Hisami will evaluate their current level of proficiency and assess where the student should placed within the Suzuki curriculum.
